The Versive Assistant: one AI agent for your whole workspace
Chat with the Versive Assistant from any page to find studies, analyze results, build and edit surveys, and export data — with confirmation before anything destructive.
The Versive Assistant is an AI agent built into every page of the app. Ask it questions about your research, and ask it to do things: it works with the same studies, responses, and permissions you do.
Open it from Assistant in the left sidebar, with ⌘J, or from the floating button on pages where the sidebar is hidden.
What it can do
- Find and summarize studies. "Which of my studies got new responses this week?" or "What's the completion rate on the pricing study?"
- Analyze results. Completion funnels, drop-off by question, per-question aggregates, and reading individual transcripts. Response data is only shown to people with results access on the study.
- Create and edit studies. Ask for a new study, or point it at an existing one: add questions, rewrite wording, set up skip logic, reorder, translate.
- Export data. Ask for a CSV of a study's responses directly in chat.
- Clean up. "Which studies look inactive?" — then archive the ones you confirm.
The assistant shares its capabilities and permission rules with the Versive MCP server, so what your team's external AI tools can do through MCP, you can do in the app by chatting.
Draft edits in the study editor, confirmed edits everywhere else
Where the assistant is when you ask matters:
- In the study editor, it edits your unsaved draft. Changes appear in the canvas immediately, each one can be undone, and nothing is published until you click Save Study. This is the same flow as building a study with AI.
- Everywhere else, edits apply directly to the live study. The assistant asks you to confirm — with an explicit Confirm/Cancel prompt — before anything destructive: removing questions, archiving studies, or large restructures. Additive changes you asked for, like adding a question, happen without the extra step.
Conversations and files stick around
Every conversation is saved to your account. The chat name at the top of the panel opens your history — searchable and grouped by date — so you can return to an earlier analysis or continue a half-finished edit. Threads are private to you; teammates see the study changes, not your chats.
Documents, images, and Figma prototypes you attach stay available for the whole conversation. Upload a discussion guide once, and the assistant can keep referencing it across messages — no need to re-attach it each time.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I open the Versive Assistant?
Click Assistant in the left sidebar or press Cmd+J from any page. On pages without the sidebar, such as the study editor, use the floating Assistant button in the bottom-right corner.
Will the assistant change my study without asking?
In the study editor it works on your unsaved draft, and every change has an undo — nothing is published until you click Save Study. Anywhere else, edits apply directly to the live study, and the assistant asks you to confirm before anything destructive like removing questions or archiving a study.
Are my conversations with the assistant saved?
Yes. Conversations are saved to your account and private to you. Use the chat name at the top of the panel to search your history and pick up an earlier thread.
Can other people in my organization see my assistant chats?
No. Threads are scoped to your user account. The changes the assistant makes to studies are visible to your team like any other edit, but the conversations themselves are yours.
